We all have our own perception of tourism. About what makes a good trip, where we would like to travel and which an expensive or cheap trip is ... As tourists, we are all experts.

But tourism also has another side: it requires specialised knowledge about tourism economy and professional skills. In the Chair of Tourism in the Võru County Vocational Training Centre studies are conducted in cooperation with entrepreneurs – this is the best way to get a general idea of the future profession. Everything starts from good knowledge of tourism services such as accommodation, catering, conference, tour-guide and travelling services.

You will have an opportunity to go on a study trip with students, teachers and entrepreneurs, which will last 3.5 years in the specialities of professional higher education, and 2 years in the specialities of secondary vocational education.

The students of tourism specialities will receive a lot of experience, so that they can work in a team, develop their aesthetic taste, be flexible and friendly, provide services, think positively and socialise in English, Russian and Finnish.

It is our tradition to organise events at folk calendar holidays, educational tours to tourism enterprises and speciality fairs. Our students have contemporary study and speciality classes, modern technology and up-to-date computer programs at their disposal. Apprenticeship training takes place in Estonian as well as in foreign tourism enterprises.

In addition to basic training, the chair also gives professional pre-training to grammar school students in the field of tourism and hotel service.
